LUX FRAGIL

After all, it’s been in existence since way back in 1998, and has in that time put on some of the best parties with the most discerning checklist of DJs and artists ever. Even the tally from just the beginning of this year is enough to make you weep — Omar S, Roman Flügel, Joe Goddard, Robert Hood and Maceo Plex. Sigh. And when it’s a disco ball that’s the main feature of a dancefloor, it gets the biggest of thumbs up from us. Stylish to the end, the venue has a determination to stick to what it does best, presenting beautiful house music to an understanding, like-minded congregation. Yes congregation, because Lux Fragil is indeed a place of worship.

And because spending time with family and friends, socialising and eating amazing food is uppermost on the mind of many a Lisbonian, you’ll be as well to arrive later than usual. By the way, Dixon’s playing this month, and if you want to get a flavour of some true Portuguese vibes check out weekly residents DJ Al and Tiago Miranda, producers of funky, carnival-kissed music, who play anything from boogie and disco to techno and house.
