CONCRETE

Now it’s the first dance music club in France officially licensed to run twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

The 1200-capacity club consists of a main room and a terrace, both equipped with Funktion One sound systems. The main room is more minimalist and has a straightforward club feel, while the wood-paneled terraced is heated in winter — allowing people to dance outside in any weather on the biggest smoking area in Paris. Management continue to strive to improve the club — next up, they plan to create a new chill-out floor.

In the last year alone, it’s hosted an admirably underground line-up of world-class house and techno DJs, including Ben Klock, DJ Harvey, Matthew Herbert, Move D and hot new label on the block, Giegling. They’re also channeling legendary Berlin institutions with monthly Samedimance parties running from Saturday evening through to Monday morning, for clubbers that are true of heart. With nights dedicated to resident labels such as Perlon, Rush Hour and [a:rpia:r], Concrete is a stellar, floating addition to Paris’ increasingly competitive dance music scene.
