The Pioneer DDJ-1000 was announced earlier this year and is jam packed with features making it one of the most powerful controllers on the market. However, this controller was made to be compatible only with the Rekordbox DJ software. As Rekordbox is an app that was created by the folks at Pioneer, they have first dibs on all of their products and can even make Pioneer products solely for Rekordbox. When the DDJ-1000 dropped, Serato users ended up feeling left out; probably for the first time. It must’ve been a long 5 months for Serato users but with how well the DDJ-1000 SRT integrates with Serato it was well worth the wait. The announcement comes out just in time for the 30th Anniversary of the DJ Expo in Atlantic City (August 12th-15th) so i’m sure everyone there will be able to give it a test run. Until then you can see Buck Rodgers get down on the DDJ-1000SRT below.
The latest iteration of Pioneers flagship controller features realistic CDJ feeling jog wheels, HD LCD displays on the jog wheels. 4 channels (you can add two external CDJs/Turntables) and all the tools you would need to rock any party. Matt from the LA Serato HQ gives you an in-depth unboxing and first look in the video below. If you are thinking about grabbing this controller we recommend you go ahead and purchase it now as “The first 5,000 units worldwide come with a free Serato DJ Suite license, including; Serato DJ Pro, Play, DVS, Video, FX, Flip and Pitch ‘n Time DJ. Worth USD 299.” according to the Serato website. Are you excited about Pioneers latest controller!? Leave a comment.
